Our School

At Swarthmore-Rutledge School, we take a thoughtful and intentional approach to elementary education, one that recognizes each child as an individual and values both growth and belonging. Our work is grounded in strong relationships and purposeful instruction. We believe students thrive when they feel seen and supported, and when they are challenged in ways that build confidence over time. We meet students where they are and guide them forward with care and consistency, helping them develop the skills they need for continued success.

What distinguishes SRS is the strength of our community. Families, staff, and students work in partnership to create a school environment that is welcoming and steady. We are deeply rooted in arts and culture, expressed through more than 55 permanent art installations throughout our building. These pieces, created by members of our community and graduating classes, reflect who we are and serve as a lasting legacy of our students’ growth and experiences. Guided by our shared commitment to being safe, respectful, and responsible, we encourage every student to be their best at SRS.
